REZ DOGS INTRODUCTION

REZ DOGS: Ruffin’ It On the Navajo Reservation features homeless strays that are forced to mooch meals from campers because it's the only means for these so-called “rez dogs” to get fed.

Stumpi de Chelly (pronounced "de shay”) is the principal whose canine community of affable mendicants on paws watch over him. Shy and polite, he affects a sage, calm presence in their lives. This novel’s narrative is based on salient details about the dogs, engendering awareness and dogmanity for their daily plight.

This revamped Director’s Cut literary depiction is also based on disconcerting facts of res dog medical ailments and common nutritional deficiencies. I think this tale about tails has a surprise and happy ending for the community's most unassuming res dog in search of a forever home: Stumpi de Chelly whose story takes place on one of the America Southwest’s best-loved national monuments, Canyon de Chelly in northeast Arizona.
